FOOD YOU SHOULD NOT FEED PETS

I know pets are family and you best believe I will treat them like so. When it comes to your pets, not all foods you eat are safe for them. It’s important information to know to keep our furry ones safe. I have a list of the most common household foods that end up getting pets unhappy. This list includes but is not limited to...

Chocolate

The scent of chocolate attracts dogs but this doesn't mean you should feed it to them. It’s toxic for them, and should never be fed to them.

Onions

Onions contain N-propyl disulfide, a compound that causes a breakdown of red blood cells which leads to anemia in dogs.

Milk and lactose

Many dogs can be lactose intolerant, the most common symptoms are toileting accidents in the house, excessive thirst, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, and bloating. It's best to avoid all dairy products.

Fatty foods

Maintaining a healthy weight for your dogs is important, fatty food can increase weight gain fast. Fatty foods can also lead to pancreatitis.

Salt

Salt is an essential component of your dog’s diet helping muscle and nerve function. However, some dogs with chronic diseases such as kidney, heart, or liver problems may need to watch their salt consumption.

Citrus

The citric acid found in fruits such as grapefruit, lemon, lime, and orange, can cause diarrhea, vomiting and at the very worst end of the scale, depression of the central nervous system.
